Friends of Bethany
On the way with Louise Marguerite Claret de la Touche
Messenger of Infinite Love
Who is Louise Marguerite
Claret de la Touche?
Louise Marguerite Claret de la Touche was born in France in 1868. From an early age, she showed a deep religious inclination but also experienced the ups and downs of social life as the daughter of a good family. In 1890, she entered the Visitation Convent in Romans and received the religious name Sister Louise Marguerite of the Sacred Heart. Known for her piety, obedience, and devotion to God, she quickly rose to the rank of novice mistress and eventually superior. During her convent life, she says she received divine mandates centered on the Sacred Heart of Jesus and, in particular, the Work of Infinite Love. These mystical experiences compelled her to advocate for a greater recognition of and devotion to divine love and ultimately to found a new order dedicated to Infinite Love. Although she and her work enjoyed only limited success during her lifetime, the Work of Infinite Love became widely known after her death, particularly through the publication of her writings. Louise Marguerite Claret de la Touche died in Italy in 1915. The beatification process began in 1933 and led to the recognition of her heroic virtue in 2006.
